About Us

Head Start Tutors has been serving the Beach and east end students since 1995. We are a small but dedicated operation offering one on one tutoring for students in all subject areas from grades 3 to 11 inclusive. In non-pandemic times, tutoring takes place in our offices located in the Vic Park Physiotherapy Clinic. Until further notice, all tutoring sessions will be virtual, using Skype or Facetime. This is for the safety of students, families and our faculty. Many students are naturally negatively impacted by the classroom environment virtually or at school. At Head Start Tutors, all tutoring is one on one, away from distractions where the focus is on your son or daughter’s educational needs.

Payment Details and Policies

Unlike other services, our tutoring rate is $50.00 per hour, guaranteed to be one-on-one tutoring. We also do not require parents to purchase blocks of tutoring time. If a parent signs up their son or daughter for an hour of tutoring time per week, it is expected to be on an ongoing weekly basis. If a conflict comes up, we require at least 24 hours notice of cancellation or rescheduling. We accept Interac email transfers, cash or cheques made out to Head Start Tutors. Payment must be made in advance, before or at the beginning of a session. Some parents find it more convenient to pay a month at at time in advance.
